The Flower That Fell From The Sky

By Heloise Wilson

In a world teetering on disastrous climate change three siblings find hope though smells, umbrellas, shadows and memories…

★★★★ " Surreal moments abound, increasing in absurdity as the play progresses … Places and objects become conduits for memory and extensions of mind." (Nanci Nott for Arts Hub on The Flower that Fell from the Sky)

★★★★ “The simplicity of the set design enables the audience to project their own associations onto every scene … Milk crates... magically transform into train seats, mountain peaks, hot-air balloons and the bones of nostalgic memories.” (Nanci Nott for Arts Hub on The Flower that Fell from the Sky)

“…the cast’s adept use of puppets delivered some magical moments... physical theatre, which the team executed beautifully, [gifts] us welcome pauses for reflection.” (Claire Trolio for Seesaw Magazine on The Flower that Fell from the Sky)

“Sensitive and beautiful performances from Mischa Ipp as Macha, Dylan Dorotich as Olga and Samuel Addison as Andrei...” (Kimberley Shaw for Stage Whispers on The Flower that Fell from the Sky)

★★★★ "The Flower that Fell from the Sky … reminds audiences young and old that... nothing will change without the planting of a seed " (Nanci Nott for Arts Hub)

The Flower that Fell from the Sky is a loose adaptation of Three Sisters by Anton Chekhov. An insightful and heart-felt contemporary fable with magical realism, sensory experiences, and physical theatre created for audience members 12 years and above.

Through the siblings’ quest to ultimately find a sense of home, we ask the question: “How do we preserve our inner-child?” A metaphor for the changes the world is currently going through, the play is an invitation to spark an intergenerational dialogue.

After our successful run at The Blue Room Theatre we were invited to present a second season at Fringe World in 2023 at The Chapel Theatre at Tranby College.
